O Lord, open our lips;
And our mouth shall proclaim your praise.
Opening Sentance
The just shall flourish like a palm tree; planted in the house of the Lord, they flourish in the courts of our God. . . . .Psalm 92:12,13.
Christ speaks the truth in every age:
O come, let us worship.
Psalm 18:31-37
31 For who is God except the Lord? And who is a rock besides our God?— 32 the God who girded me with strength, and made my way safe. 33 He made my feet like the feet of a deer, and set me secure on the heights. 34 He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. 35 You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand has supported me; your help[b] has made me great. 36 You gave me a wide place for my steps under me, and my feet did not slip. 37 I pursued my enemies and overtook them; and did not turn back until they were consumed.
Prayer
The night has passed and the day lies open before us;
let us pray with one heart and mind:
( Silence may be kept)
As we rejoice in the gift of this new day,
so may the light of your presence, O God,
set our hearts on fire with love for you;
now and for ever.
Amen.
