Psalm 67

  1. Be gracious to us O God and bless us:
    and make the light of your face to shine upon us,
  2. that your ways may be known upon earth:
    your saving power among all nations.
  3. Let the peoples praise you O God:
    let all the peoples praise you.
  4. Let the nations be glad, and sing for joy:
    for you judge the peoples righteously,
    and guide the nations on earth.
  5. Let the peoples praise you O God:
    let all the peoples praise you.
  6. The earth has yielded its harvest:
    and you our God will bless us.
  7. Your blessing O God be upon us:
    and let all the ends of the world revere you.

Old Testament Reading - A time for war and a time for peace

thumb

There is a right time for everything:

2a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5a time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to throw away;
7a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

Confession

Almighty and merciful God,
we have sinned against you,
in thought, word and deed.
We have not loved you with all our heart.
We have not loved others
as our Saviour Christ loves us.
We are truly sorry.
In your mercy forgive what we have been,
help us to amend what we are,
and direct what we shall be;
that we may delight in your will
and walk in your ways,
through Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Amen.
