Epistle Reflection
We must be like newborn babes,
always thirsty for spiritual milk,
so that we may grow up to be saved.
New Testament Reading - An example to the flock

1And now, a word to you elders of the church. I, too, am an elder; with my own eyes I saw Christ dying on the cross; and I, too, will share his glory and his honor when he returns. Fellow elders, this is my plea to you: 2Feed the flock of God; care for it willingly, not grudgingly; not for what you will get out of it but because you are eager to serve the Lord. 3Don’t be tyrants, but lead them by your good example, 4and when the Head Shepherd comes, your reward will be a never-ending share in his glory and honor.
. . . . . 1 Peter 5:1-4Intercession
Intercession and Thanksgiving are offered in free prayer
or in silence, ending with the following
Show us your mercy, O Lord,
and grant us your salvation.
Lord, have mercy. E te Ariki, kia aroha mai.
The earth is full of violence:
look, O Lord, upon your covenant.
Christ, have mercy. E te Karaiti, kia aroha mai.
O God, do not be silent;
do not keep still, nor hold your peace, O God.
Lord, have mercy. E te Ariki, kia aroha mai.
Amen.
