I'm being cheeky putting a secular Queen song here but it fits what we need to think about.
"My power is in my own hand" - God gave us free will - the right to choose to surrender to Jesus and gain immortality 'eternal life'. Making us like God - princes of the universe.
"We've come to be the rulers of you all" - the disciples will return with the Lord and each will sit on a throne ruling over one of the 12 tribes of Israel. Just don't forget while we may be 'born to be kings', we follow the example of the King of Kings who humbled himself, becoming a suffering servant.

Loving God,
your Son willingly endured agony and shame for us.
Give us grace to take up our cross
and follow him in newness of life and hope;
for he is our Redeemer . . .
Amen.
Prayer
Our Father,
hallowed be your name
on earth as in heaven.
Almighty and everlasting God,
we thank you that you have brought us safely
to the beginning of this day.
Keep us from falling into sin or running into danger,
and guide us to do always what is right in your eyes;
through Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Amen.
