You Are Worthy
You are worthy O Christ,
for you were slain:
and by your blood have ransomed us for God,
ransomed us from every tribe and people
and nation:
and made us a royal house of priests
to our God.
Amen.
Gospel Reading - The Light has come
12-13When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he left Judea and returned homea to Nazareth in Galilee; but soon he moved to Capernaum, beside the Lake of Galilee, close to Zebulun and Naphtali. 14This fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy:
15-16“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, beside the lake, and the countryside beyond the Jordan River, and Upper Galilee where so many foreigners live — there the people who sat in darkness have seen a great Light; they sat in the land of death, and the Light broke through upon them.”b
17From then on, Jesus began to preach, “Turn from sin and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”c
. . . . .Matthew 4:12-17- Implied
- broke through upon them, see Isaiah 9:1-2.
- is near, or “is at hand,” or “has arrived.”
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.
