Gospel Reflection
We must be on our guard.
We could be taken to court;
we could be summoned to appear
before the authorities, to testify for Jesus.
The gospel must be proclaimed to everyone.
Jesus asked in the garden that the cup might pass from him;
Jesus drank the cup and walked the way of the cross.
Gospel Reading - Raising of Lazarus
21 Martha said to Jesus, "Sir, if you had been here, my brother wouldn't have died. 22 And even now it's not too late, for I know that God will bring my brother back to life again, if you will only ask him to."
23Jesus told her, "Your brother will come back to life again."
24"Yes," Martha said, "when everyone else does, on Resurrection Day."
25Jesus told her, "I am the one who raises the dead and gives them life again. Anyone who believes in me, even though he dies like anyone else, shall live again. 26 He is given eternal life for believing in me and shall never perish. Do you believe this, Martha?"
27 "Yes, Master," she told him. "I believe you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one we have so long awaited."
. . . . .John 11:21-27The Lord's Prayer
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.
