Prayer

Bless the Lord, whose name is to be praised,
Our Father who art in heaven,
who has given us his laws,
to show us the error of our ways,
Blessed is his son, Christ the Messiah,
who redeemed us from having broken them.
Blessed are you, O Holy Spirit,
who assists us in sinning no more,
and sustains us in the way of the Lord,
grant us wisdom and understanding this day.
Amen.

Old Testament Reading - Renowned among the nations

thumb

4And they shall rebuild the ancient ruins, repairing cities long ago destroyed, reviving them though they have lain there many generations. 5Foreigners shall be your servants; they shall feed your flocks and plow your fields and tend your vineyards. 6You shall be called priests of the Lord, ministers of our God. You shall be fed with the treasures of the nations and shall glory in their riches. 7Instead of shame and dishonor, you shall have a double portion of prosperity and everlasting joy.

8For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery and wrong. I will faithfully reward my people for their suffering and make an everlasting covenant with them. 9Their descendants shall be known and honored among the nations; all shall realize that they are a people God has blessed.

. . . . .Isaiah 61:4-9

Please remember our Prayer Requests

O Lord, you are our God:
we call upon you all day long.
Lord, have mercy. E te Ariki, kia aroha mai.
Rescue the weak and poor,
deliver them from the power of the wicked.
Christ, have mercy. E te Karaiti, kia aroha mai.
Lord, our souls wait for you,
for our hope is in your word.
Lord, have mercy. E te Ariki, kia aroha mai.
Amen.
