BREAKFAST (Lauds)

MENU

O Lord, open our lips;
And our mouth shall proclaim your praise.

Opening Sentance

Deliverance for the righteous comes from the Lord; the Most High is their stronghold in time of trouble. . . . .Psalm 37:39.

Psalm 31

  1. In you Lord I have taken refuge:
    let me never be put to shame,
  2. deliver me in your righteousness:
    incline your ear to me
    come quickly to my rescue.
  3. Be to me a rock of refuge:
    a stronghold to keep me safe.
  4. You are to me a rock and a fortress:
    for your name's sake lead me and guide me.
  5. Release me from the net they have secretly laid for me:
    for you O Lord are my strength.
  6. Into your hands I commend my spirit:
    for you have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.
  7. You hate those who pay regard to worthless idols:
    but I put my trust in the Lord.
  8. I will be glad and rejoice in your mercy:
    for you have seen my affliction,
    and taken heed of my soul's distress.
  9. You have not given me up to the power of the enemy:
    you have set my feet where I may walk at liberty.

Prayer

The night has passed and the day lies open before us;
let us pray with one heart and mind:

( Silence may be kept)

As we rejoice in the gift of this new day,
so may the light of your presence, O God,
set our hearts on fire with love for you;
now and for ever.
Amen.
