MatinsTHE PROLOGUE OF JOHN
In the beginning was the Word:
and the Word was with God;
and the Word was God:
he was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through him:
and without him
was not anything made that was made.
In him was life:
and the life was the light of the human race.
The light shines in the darkness:
and the darkness has never overcome it.
Amen.
Gospel Reading - Do not be afraid
16That evening his disciples went down to the shore to wait for him. 17But as darkness fell and Jesus still hadn’t come back, they got into the boat and headed out across the lake toward Capernaum. 18-19But soon a gale swept down upon them as they rowed, and the sea grew very rough. They were three or four miles out when suddenly they saw Jesus walking toward the boat! They were terrified, 20but he called out to them and told them not to be afraid. 21Then they were willing to let him in, and immediately the boat was where they were going!a

Our Father in heaven,
