The Prologue of John
In the beginning was the Word:
and the Word was with God;
and the Word was God:
he was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through him:
and without him
was not anything made that was made.
In him was life:
and the life was the light of the human race.
The light shines in the darkness:
and the darkness has never overcome it.
Amen.
Gospel Reading - The members of Christ's family
31-32Now his mother and brothers arrived at the crowded house where he was teaching, and they sent word for him to come out and talk with them. “Your mother and brothers are outside and want to see you,” he was told.
33He replied, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” 34Looking at those around him he said, “These are my mother and brothers! 35Anyone who does God’s will is my brother, and my sister, and my mother.”

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,

Give us today our daily bread.

now and for ever.
